Everyone has heard of mace before. It is used for self defense if you are ever attacked in anyway. Mace, which is a registered brand name, is a non-lethal spray that Mace Security International manufactures. There are three different types of self defense spray that you can get. There is the Triple Action, PepperGard, Pepper Mace and there is even Pepper Foam. Another name for mace is pepper spray.
There are six physiological effects that will happen to the person that gets sprayed in the face. They can experience:
Central nervous system – This causes headaches, dizziness and extreme general discomfort.
Chest – Their chest will get a tight feeling in their upper respiratory system and it will cause them to cough.
Eyes – They will start tearing and burning.
Mouth – They will experience an accelerate
Nose – There will be a discharge from the nose and it will start burning. Irritation will also be a factor.
Skin – They will feel all of the surface nerve endings on their face and it will start burning and stinging.
You have to make sure that if you plan on using mace for self defense then you need to be ready to use it. You want to have it in your hand with your finger on the trigger. You need to remember that your attacker will not be paralyzed and will still be able to come after you. So you want to make sure after you spray that you run.
It is very important that you tell the police about the attack and that you used mace on your attacker. This way they will have an easier time identifying the person. If you are going to use this kind of self defense weapon then you need to be aware that it is a felony to use it unless you are using it in self defense. So be very careful.
